Shaw claims New Norfolk Classic
BALLARAT cyclist Patrick Shaw, 24, was first across the line this afternoon and claimed victory in the second annual Launceston to New Norfolk Classic. The event was sponsored by the Derwent Valley Council and New Norfolk Business Alliance and Mayor Martyn Evans was on hand to congratulate the winners. A reception was held afterwards at the Junction Motel.

We are very fortunate to have Tasmania's equal oldest national park in our municipality. Its centenary will be celebrated in 2016.

In 2001 I travelled to England at my own expense to bid for the right to host the 2008 World Gathering of Norfolk and Norwich here in the Derwent Valley. During this interview on BBC Radio Norwich, it was announced that our bid had been successful
